SIALKOT - Inter-media Pakistan in collaboration with International Labour Organisation (ILO) organised a three-day training workshop on the themes of ‘Labour and Gender’ for the Sialkot based senior journalists.
Addressing the inaugural session, the training experts Mr Lala Hassan and Ms. Nighat Dad told the participants that one of the three components of the training was building media capacity to promote themes of gender equality in the world of work and good working environments and conditions for working women.
The objective was to improve the coverage of working women in media so that all stakeholders were better educated about empowerment of women.
They gave detailed presentations to the journalists on “understanding gender, gender roles and gender equality, gender, vulnerability and empowerment, women in the world of work and on media’s role in empowerment of women”. The training workshop will end on 22th.
