Admin reviews plan for anti-polio drive

A meeting was held with DCO Imtiaz Niazi in chair to review arrangements with regard to anti-polio campaign scheduled to be started from March 24 to 26 across the district. DPO Amir Tamur, DOC Afzal Warriach, ADC Hassan Hareen Hoot, ACs of all three tehils, Dr Shahid Tanveer, DDO Dr Iftikhar, Dr Aamir and other officers from all departments attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, the DCO said that polio was a dangerous disease which caused infirmity among children. He said in Pakistan 27 cases of polio were reported but due to cooperation of public and efforts of health department this district remained free of polio. He said a three day anti-polio drive would be started from March 24 and to monitor activities of the anti-polio teams a control centre had been established in DCO office. He called upon all segments of the society to extend cooperation to anti polio teams in administering anti polio vaccines to children under five.
