DG CDA, SDO Rawal Dam among 60 booked

Action against ‘encroachments’

islamabad - Bani Gala police have booked around 60 persons, including DG Land Capital Development Authority Islam Shah and SDO Rawal Dam Muhammad Bilal, for undertaking an operation, what the CDA believes, against illegal occupation of the state land in the area of Lakhwal.
The police registered the FIR on the directions of court under section 452, 506, 427, 147 and 149 of PPC for hurling threats and damaging a hotel of one Raja Muhammad Jameel. The CDA officials had carried out operation against the illegal encroachers a day after the prime minister took notice of massive China Cutting in the area of Banigala.
Meanwhile, Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police has busted an inter-provincial gang involved in dacoity as well as murder incidents, a police spokesman said yesterday.
The police also recovered gold ornaments, Rs 1.3 million cash, foreign currency and weapons from their possession. SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani had assigned the task to SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas to ensure arrest of those involved in dacoity incidents.
A special team succeeded to bust the gang of dacoits. The gangsters have been identified as Abdul Naseem Khan alias Abdul Afghani, Shah Agha Afghani, Musa Khan Afghani, Baon Khan, Sikandar alias Pehlwan Afgnai and Hayat.
Police team recovered gold ornaments (226 grams), six gold coins, Rs 1.3 million, foreign currency, seven watches, five pistols and other looted items from their possession.
During preliminary investigation, they confessed to have killed Iqbal Baig during dacoity at the residence of his brother Sarwar Baig, a resident of House # 146, St # 36, sector G-9/1, on July 26, 2015.
The same gang committed dacoity incidents at the house of Abdul Rehman in sector F-10/1 on January 4, 2016; Abdul Ahad in sector G-11/4 on December 5, 2015; Brig (Retd) Iftikhar Muhammad in sector F-10/2 on September 11, 2105; Sardar Muhammad Zahir Khan in sector G-10/2 on January 14, 2016; Dr Fiaz Gul, sector F-10/1, on January 15, 2016; Fiaz Uddin, sector E-11, on March 24, 2013; and at the house of Mehboob Ahmed in sector F-10/4 on May 21, 2014. They also revealed during the interrogation to have struck at various shops and houses in sector F-6, Super Market, sector D-12, Rawalpindi, Nowshera, Sargodha, Jhelum, and Azad Kashmir.
Earlier, ringleader Abdul Naseem was arrested by CIA police Islamabad and he remained in jail.
The police team also nabbed Abdul Ghaffar alias Kanter and Anzar Gul alias Chachu who confessed having been involved in theft incidents at Farooqi Medical Store, Jagiot Road and CDA office at Old Naval Headquarter Engineering Wing. Police recovered stolen items including batteries from them.
