LAHORE - Meteorological department has forecast mainly dry weather for most parts of the country including Lahore during the next 4-5 days. However, rain-thundershowers are expected at isolated places (few hailstorm also) of Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Sunday night.

According to the experts, westerly wave is affecting northern areas of the country and likely to move northeastward in next 12 hour.

Shaheed Benazirabad remained the hottest place in the country where mercury rose as high as 39 degree Celsius. Maximum temperature in Mithi and Lasbella was recorded 38C, Chhor, Mirpurkhas, Huderabad and Turbat 37C.

Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 27C and 16C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 48 per cent.

Body for abandoned patients

Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Khalid Mahmood has constituted a four-member committee headed by Director Emergency to ensure treatment of abandoned patients at Lahore General Hospital.

The committee comprises AMS Implementation, Medical Social Welfare Officer and sister in-charge Emergency. The duty AMS or DMS have also made duty bound to inform police and media in case of identification of any such patient.

Khalid Mahmood directed the members of the committee to ensure monitoring of treatment and provision of all the facilities to such patients till his or her family members were found.

He said that mostly in cases of accidents, injured were brought to the hospital whose heirs were not available immediately. In such cases, it was basic responsibility of the hospital to ensure full medical assistance to such patients without waiting for their family members, he concluded.
