Climate change is affecting energy sector of Pakistan, be it agriculture, industry or exports. According to a media report, the country lost more than $2 billion due to extreme weather events. Pakistan enacted several pieces of national policy initiatives in the areas of forestry, energy conservation, disaster management and renewable energy development, among others. These policies integrate scientific climate information into development priorities.

2. Disaster risks such as un-planned urbanization, weak enforcement, unchecked construction in flood plains, expansion of economic activities in hazard prone areas, water resource mismanagement, land degradation, desertification, environmental degradation and climate change have further increased vulnerabilities.
