ISLAMABAD - The National Response Centre for Cyber Crimes in Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arranged lectures at various organisations under its awareness campaigns among masses regarding such crimes.

The lectures have been arranged at private and public sector organisations including academia, judiciary, police and other government departments.

As per information by Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control here on Sunday, the Centre under the awareness campaigns also conducted training of students at school level by Cyber Scouts.

The Centre also created "Cyber Alert System" through which SMS messages are sent to general public for securing their information and becoming safe from

fraudulent emails/SMS.

The Ministry said National Response Centre for Cyber Crimes (NR3C) is equipped with state-of-the-art expertise and capabilities for conducting investigation of hi-tech crimes including those committed through use of computer, internet, mobile phones, VoIP etc.

The Centre also deals with Digital Forensics, Information Security Audits and Database Audit and Recovery and it launched Email and Internet Policy that outlines security guidelines and multi-stage information security audit of government Institutes, ministries and attached departments.

Ministry of Information Technology has drafted Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill (PECB), 2014 in conjunction with all concerned stakeholders including FIA.

The NR3C has Cyber Crime Circles situated in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Quetta with headquarters in Islamabad.
