Islamabad - The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) devised special traffic plan to guide and facilitate the motorists on the occasion of a parade event in Shakarparian Ground on March 23.

Traffic signs of various colours and army personnel would also guide the citizens at Parade Avenue while special directives had also been issued to the participants by the administration to ensure foolproof security arrangements on the occasion.

According to the plan, the entrance of heavy traffic in the city would be banned from 12:00am March 20 to 1:00pm March 21 and from 12:00am March 22 to 3:00pm March 23. The motorcars coming from Lahore could reach motorway passing through the Peshawar GT Road Rawat T-Cross and Rawalpindi Saddar Road.

The traffic coming from airport could reach Kashmir Highway and G sectors of the federal capital through Expressway than using Khanna Pul, Lehtrar Road and turning left from Taramri Chowk toward Rawal Dam Chowk and then towards Kashmir Chowk. The same traffic could move toward Murree through Kashmir Chowk.

To guide the guests for the parade event, the invitation cards of different colours have been distributed, which guide the people for directions, parking and sitting place. For example, if someone was given red invitation card, he would follow the route marking of red colour, red parking place and also sit on the same colour’s seat. All the visitors would use the traffic routes in accordance with their card colours around the areas parade ground including Faizabad, Islamabad

Expressway, Shakarparian Flyover, Zero Point, Kashmir Highway, Kashmir Chowk, Rawal Dam Chowk, Murree Road and IJP Road.

The motorists coming from Murree Road Rawalpindi would reach Exhibition Road by using Faizabad Flyover, Islamabad Expressway and Shakarparian

Flyover and then would reach to their car parking through temporarily way entrance number 1.

The guests coming from Islamabad having red and black colour invitation cards would reach car parking through temporarily way for entrance number 1 at Expressway after crossing Shakarparian Flyover towards Islamabad Expressway. The signboard of different colours and army personnel would guide the guests toward their prescribed car parking.

The people coming from Rawalpindi, Jhelum and Mangla through Islamabad Expressway could reach entrance number 1 after passing through Faizabad Underpass and taking U-turn from Shakarparian flyover toward parade ground.

The guest having yellow and red invitation cards would use the same route of people having green number 1 and black cards but they would enter through the entrance number 2 at Islamabad Highway.

The participants with blue, red number 2, green number 2 and maroon colour cards would use the same way of green number 1 and black but these people would enter Parade Avenue thorough entrance number 3.

The heavy traffic coming from Rawat would be turned toward Mall Road, Rawat T-Cross, Jhelum Road, Sawan Adda, Katcheri Chowk, Pirwadhai Flyover and Golra Mor.

The general transport of IJP road would be turned toward Faizabad Flyover and then 9th Avenue and Kashmir Highway. The traffic coming from Rawalpindi would be turned toward stadium through Murree Road till 9th Avenue Kashmir Highway.

The ITP appealed the citizens to use the traffic signs to drive towards the Parade Ground and avoid bringing eatable items. The motorists have been asked to display the special stickers issued by the administration on left side of front glass of their vehicles and also carry the CNICs.

The participants were asked to cooperate administration for vehicles checking and all drivers should stay in the vehicles.

According to the administration, the participants must bring CNICs and it was banned to bring cameras, mobile phones, hand bags and any eatable items. The participants have been asked to reach the parking area till 7:30am.

The administration had made refreshment and entertainment arrangements for guests and no vehicle would be allowed to go out before ending of parade. Only the guests having invitation cards would be allowed to enter.

Islamabad police have requested the citizens to keep an eye on suspects around them and inform the police on phone numbers 1135, 15 and 1915. In condition of rainy weather, the decision to cancel the parade event would be announced thorough TV channels and radio.
