Cannot stop increment in dollar prices: state minister

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan said that they cannot stop increment of dollar prices as compared to rupee as market forces fixed the value.

He was of the opinion that value of rupees is seeing the decrease in the interbank and open market, increasing the value of dollars.

The dollar reached the highest level of 115 rupees in interbank. The minister said that State Bank has over 12 billion dollars resources, adding that the government has to return over 3 billion dollars foreign debt in the current year.

The state minister was of the opinion that next budget will be public friendly and if needed only minor taxes will be enhanced.
