Court moved to put Musharraf’s name on ECL

LAHORE - A lawyer on Tuesday approached the Lahore High Court seeking directives for the interior ministry to put the name of former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf on the Exit Control List soon after his arrival in the country.

Advocate Rana Illmuddin Ghazi moved the petition and submitted that a petition seeking registration of a high treason case against the former army chief had been pending adjudication before the Lahore High Court and a full bench was also constituted for its hearing.

He said according to the available information, Mushraf was coming back to Pakistan. The lawyer said there were a number of cases pending against him but he was not facing them. He said his name should be put on the ECL so that he could be brought to justice. He asked the court to order the federal government to put his name on the ECL.
