Speakers demand OIC meeting on profane sketches

LAHORE - Speakers and audience at a seminar on And Now Profane Sketches on Facebook, Test of Islamic World at Haimd Nizami Hall on Thursday pledged to lay down every sacrifice for the honour and reverence of Holy Prophet (PBUH). The common voices demanded of the government to convene an urgent OIC meeting to unite the Muslim Ummah on the issue. It was also demanded of the rulers to take issue of blasphemous act at UNO and other international forums. They said religious and political parties must come out of their empty shells as well as personal interests and take the issue as top agenda. Maulana Amir Hamza, Convenor Tehrik Hurmat-e-Rasool, Allama Syed Kazim Raza Naqvi, Leader of Tehrik-e-Islami, Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, MPA of PML-N and Muhammad Akram Chaudhry, Secretary Information Punjab PML (Q) were amongst speakers while a good number of people participated in the programme. Amir Hamza said first from all Nawa-e-Waqt group arranged the seminar on the issue and by doing this it proved that the biggest issue of the time was the protection of prestige and sanctity of Holy Prophet (PBUH). He said Tehrik has called of an All Parties Conference at Islamabad and he wished the participation of Nawaz Sharif, Chaudhry Shujjat, Sajid Naqvi and other top leaders therein. He said Muslims would never compromise on the respect and regard of their Prophet (PBUH) on any conditions and in any circumstance and would stand against any one who tried to defile the same. He said economic packages of the West had no importance for the people of Pakistan, as they were ready to cut their throats for Islam and Muhammad (PBUH). He said Muslims Mujahid would fight at every forum like internet, UNO and International Court of justice for respect of their beloved Prophet (SAW). MPA Zaeem Qadri said Pakistan was not a secular but an Islamic state, which came into existence in the name of Islam. He questioned how the Pakistanis could compromise on their religion. He said, unfortunately, rulers in the past did nothing to save the ideology and values of the country, which gave heart to the anti-Islamic forces to play with our religious sentiments. He said the government might be serving the US but the people would never become puppet at the hands of the West. He also refused to accept the explanation of terrorism, which were being given by America and the West. Syed Kazim Raza said that we should get rid of American and follow in the footsteps of Iran to stand against it. He said America was the root cause of all evils in the world. He said his party would be in the forefront for the honour of the Prophet (SAW). He urged unity of the Muslims. Akram Chaudhry said no agitation was being recorded by the rulers of the Muslim world on profane sketches but only people were on the roads which reflected a sorry state on the part of the our rulers that how much they are slave to the West. He said if all factions of Muslim League become united, the cause of Islam would be served better.
