Nawaz for accountability of responsible

GUJRAT - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Nawaz Sharif has said that his party would stand by the masses if the prime minister did not accommodate the demand to constitute an independent commission on the Abbottabad operation, in which al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was killed. Addressing a public gathering at Shah Jehangir Road, Gujrat, Nawaz said those responsible for Abbottabad incident would be held accountable, adding that this incident could not be forgotten. He said the Abbottabad incident cast a deadly blow to the countrys sovereignty and national respect, and vowed that the PML-N would get set up a commission to probe into the matter so that such incidents do not recur in future. He said that such a commission would send a message across the globe that Pakistan cannot ignore its disrespect. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said the 16-hour long spells of power outages have paralyzed the civic life; especially the young generation was suffering the most as they were unable to carry out their studies. Nawaz said the power crisis remains unsolved because the politicians remained busy in petty politics over the years, leaving the problem unattended that aggravated over time, he said. Nawaz said that the energy crisis has taken it toll on the economy. The economy of the country has suffered a lot which has resulted in a rise in unemployment, poverty and inflation, he said. However, he said the problem could be solved with sincerity of purpose and honesty because the public had spirit to rise to every occasion. Commenting on relation with India, Nawaz said that the Indian leadership came to Pakistan in 1999 because of the economic growth of the country and because the PML-N government had carried out the nuclear tests despite the international pressure and an offer of $5 billion that todays leadership would not have refused. It is also pertinent to mention that some local party leaders, including PML-N district president Malik Haneef Awan, were not invited because of their differences with Haji Nasir Mehmood, the host of the public gathering. These internal party differences remained a hot topic while some party members objected at the decision of PML-N chief to visit the gathering hosted by Haji Nasir, who was booked by the police on January 13 this year on the directives of the Supreme Court for having a fake degree.
