ANP, ST join for City peace

KARACHI - The Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh and Sunni Tehreek (ST) on Sunday announced to work together to foil conspiracies to sabotage peace in Karachi.The ANP Sindh President Senator Shahi Syed has visited the Sunni Tehreek headquarter in a bid to restore peace to Karachi and to unite all the political and religious forces against criminals.Senator Shahi Syed met ST Chief Sarwat Ejaz Qadri and said they would jointly struggle for lasting peace in Karachi.They said that Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah are responsible for peace in Karachi but they had failed miserably. Syed said that he met leaders from different political and religious parties and had underlined the need of deweaponization of Karachi. ST Chief condemned the killing of ST workers by criminals saying that the government should eliminate the ‘no-go’ areas from Karachi. He stressed for a united effort by everyone to bring peace not only to Karachi but the whole country.
