BUJ protests against killing of journalist in Turbat

QUETTA - Dozens of journalists from print and electronic media on Sunday took out a rally and held a demo outside Quetta Press Club to condemn the brutal murder of journalist Razzaq Gul Baloch.
Razzaq Gul Baloch working for a private TV channel was abducted near his residence in Turbat on Friday night and his bullet-riddled body was found dumped in desolate area near Turbat city on Saturday morning.
Protesting media persons carrying black flags, placards and banners inscribed with different slogans condemned the systematic murder of journalists.
The rally organised by Balochistan Union of Journalist (BUJ) started from Quetta Press Club marched through Manan Chowk, Jinnah Road and turned into a demo infront of Press Club.
President Balochistan High Court Bar Association Zahoor Ahmed Shahwani Advocate and Anjuman-e-Tajiran Rahim Kakar also attended the demo to express solidarity with the journalists.
Addressing on the occasion, President BUJ Essa Tareen strongly condemned the murder of Razzaq Gul and expressed deep concern over the continuous killing of journalists in Balochistan.
President Quetta Press Club Saleem Shahid said that journalism was a mission and any mission needed sacrifices and hardships to be completed.
‘Right of expression is the basic right of any citizen and it cannot be snatched from anybody’, he said, and demanded for immediate arrest of culprits behind the murder of Razzaq Gul and other media persons.
