DCO orders setting up of health points in Sunday Bazaars

LAHORE - District Coordination Officer Noor ul Amin Mengal has paid surprise visit of Shalimar, Tajpura and Begum Kot Sunday Bazaars and directed the Sunday Bazaar administration to further improve the arrangements and to provide maximum facilities to people.
The DCO also checked the quality of fruit, vegetable and other food items in the Bazaars himself and expressed his satisfaction. He also presented cash award to a stall holder at Shalimar Bazaar for selling excellent quality fruit and vegetables.
He spoke to different consumers about the standard and prices, to which they complained about the quality of fruits and vegetables. On this, the DCO directed the officers to pay special attention to quality. He directed the administration to set-up health points in all Sunday Bazaars and said the health department will look after these health points.  The DCO said that the main purpose of the Sunday Bazaar is to ensure the supply of standardized edible items at the cheapest rates to the masses. He said that due to monitoring the standard of food items and other things had improved. Moreover, AC  Saddar, Maleeha Rasheed visited Johar Town Sunday Bazaar and took action on selling substandard items, she cancelled licence of 2 stalls and imposed a fine of Rs2000. DO Food Dr Masood Ashraf visited Shadman Bazaar and checked the quality of food items.
114 more industrial units in residential areas: During last 5 days, survey of 114 more industrial units situated in residential areas in the district have been completed by teams of City District Government.
According to details, survey of 20 industrial units have been completed by various teams at Ravi Town, 20 at Gulberg Town, 20 at Iqbal Town, 10 at Shalimar Town, 10 at Samanabad Town , 10 at Wagha Town while survey of 24 industrial units has been completed at Nishter Town during last 5 days. Overall, survey of 1075industrial units has been completed so far. A report has been presented to the DCO, Noor-Ul-Amin Mengal.
