At least four persons were killed and several others injured in fresh spate of target killing and other violent incidents in different areas of the city on Monday.
According to police, bullet riddled and tortured body of an unknown person packed in gunny bag was recovered from Kharadar area near KESC office. The police said that deceased was kidnapped and later shot dead after brutal torture.
Dead body of another person identified as Shafiullah, 53, was recovered from Zia Colony in Karachi.
An unknown person was killed on the spot when gunmen opened fire at him in Lyari area.
Two persons stated to be father and son were injured when unknown armed men opened fire at them in Abul Al-Isphani road. The injured were rushed to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital.
In Baldia Town one person identified as Ziauddin, 50, was injured in firing of unidentified miscreants.
Meanwhile six persons were injured when boiler of a factory located in Singer Chourangi area of Korangi burst due to unknown reasons. The injured were rushed to hospital where one person succumbed to his wounds while condition of three persons was also serious.
The police arrested four culprits involved in various incidents of robberies and motorcycles snatching during raid at a house in Saeedabad area and recovered arms and snatched motorcycles from their possession.
