Malik welcomes Shahbaz decision

ISLAMABAD - Minister of Interior Rehman Malik on Sunday welcomed a decision of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to appear and record his statement in Supreme Court attack case.
Talking to media persons after attending a meeting to review security arrangements for the visiting Turkish PM, he said that the police would record Sharif brothers testimony in the way they wanted it to be.
He also reiterated his stance that both the Sharif brothers were involved in 32 million dollars money laundering cases for which he would provide evidence soon. The scandals like lap top distribution, fake drugs and Sasti Roti schemes would be exposed, he stated.
The public money would be retrieved from the Sharif brothers at all costs, he added.
‘Shahbaz himself has admitted presence of extremists in southern Punjab while Musharraf’s sympathisers have joined the ranks of PML-N’, he said.
Meanwhile, PML-N leader Senator Mushahidullah on Sunday rebuffed claims of Rehman Malik by saying that storming of the Supreme Court incident was now a dead issue.
During an interview with INP, Mushahidullah said Rehman Malik was a convicted person and his statements had no value.
He said the rulers were working upon US agenda and the recent visit of Asif Ali Zardari to Chicago would not end tensions with US. He said the relations with US should be based upon equality and demanded of the government to show respect for the parliament’s recommendations over ties with NATO.
