Provision of relief to masses my mission: Shahbaz

LAHORE-Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that provision of relief to the common man through capacity-building of government institutions is our mission.
While presiding over a meeting regarding the performance of government structure through citizen feedback model in the province, he said a pilot project of citizen feedback model had been prepared for achieving the targets of good governance.
The chief minister said that besides improving the performance of government departments through this public welfare project, not only the menace of corruption will be eliminated from these departments but the confidence of the citizens will also be restored in government structure.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the common man would realize through citizen feedback model that the government officials were answerable to him. Similarly, the government officials will also receive this message that they were not above the law and their performance was being monitored, he added.
The chief minister said that due to this modern digital system of public feedback, the quality of services of government departments will improve. He said that petty corruption at low level will be eliminated and the provincial government will also get public response about performance of its departments.
He said that an active and vibrant institutionalized mechanism was being evolved for this purpose due to which the honest and public service spirited officials will be encouraged. He said that this pilot project will be started in Health, Police, Revenue and LDA departments in the first phase. Similarly, he added, the government would also benefit from this model for maintaining transparency and merit in the process of recruitment of 23 thousands new science teachers and action against qabza group.
Shahbaz said that citizen feedback model will also help in evaluating the performance of 100 model police stations being set up in 36 districts of the province. He said that provincial government is making sincere efforts for eliminating all kinds of corruption.
He said that besides maintaining transparency in development projects, supremacy of merit has been ensured in the process of recruitment in government departments. That is why, he said, the Transparency International had declared the laptops scheme of Punjab government completely transparent. The CM said that citizen feedback model is an essential part of government efforts towards complete elimination of corruption which will leave positive impacts in the province. He said that besides legal action against corruption, there was also a need for changing the social attitudes of ignoring corruption and plundering. Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board Dr. Umar Saif informed the meeting about the technical aspects of citizen feedback model. 
Representative of World Bank and ex-civil servant Zubair Bhatti informed the meeting about various aspects of citizen feedback model.
Meanwhile, a little known PPP local leader from Gujrat, Aurangzeb Butt called on the Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, on Sunday.
Expressing complete confidence in the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Aurangzeb Butt along with his companions announced to join PML-N. Members Provincial Assembly Imran Zafar and Hafiz Mian Nauman and former Member Provincial Assembly Haji Nasir were also present on the occasion.
Speaking  on the occasion,  Aurangzeb Butt said that he had been associated with PPP for a long time but his party has disappointed the masses and instead of resolving their problems, added to their miseries. He said that people were looking towards Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif as he was the only leader who could bring out the country and the nation from crisis. He further said that Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was serving the masses round-the-clock and common man was benefiting from public welfare projects. He said that they would work as an ordinary party worker under the leadership of PML-N Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and play their due role in further strengthening the party in the area.
Welcoming the joining of Aurangzeb Butt and his companions to PML-N, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the pivot of politics of PML-N was to improve the living standard of common man and service to the people. He said that the resources were being spent transparently for providing basic amenities to the people. He said that the country would be put on the road to progress and prosperity under the leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
