LAHORE – Plains of the province including the City received scattered showers on Sunday with experts predicting the prevailing weather pattern to persist during the couple of days.

Dust raising winds and scattered rains caused considerable decrease in the mercury level, reducing intensity of heat wave in the evening.

In Lahore, people came out of their houses in the evening to enjoy somewhat pleasant weather conditions. Major parks and picnic spots attracted a large number of people including women and children. Maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded 41.5 degree Celsius and 25.2 C respectively. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded 42 per cent which decreased to 23 per cent in the evening.

According to the experts, yesterday’s trough of westerly wave has moved away. A fresh trough of westerly wave lies over upper parts of the country.

Local meteorological department has forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of dust raising winds and rain for the City during the next 24 hours. Met office has forecast rains at isolated places of upper Punjab, Khyber PK, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Mainly dry weather has been predicted for the remaining parts of the country.
