LAHORE  - A 40-year-old man was crushed to death by a rashly-driven tractor-trolley in Shahdara Town on Wednesday, police sources said.

A resident of Shahdara, Muhammad Nadeem was crossing a road when a tractor-trolley ran over him, resulting in his on-the-spot death. The driver along with the driven fled the crime scene instantly. The police handed over the body to the family and are investigating.

Kids reunited with parents: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) Central Zone on Wednesday reunited three children, who fled a religious school in Multan, to their parents.

According to a spokesperson for the motorways police, three children were trying to stop every vehicle plying on the road in an attempt to reach their homes near Jalla More when patrolling officers reached there.

It was learnt that all the three residents of Lodhran district, identified as Arshad, 10, Rustam, 7, and Sabir, 3, were the students of a madrassa in Multan. They had left the madrassa for their home without getting permission of their teacher, according to the police. The motorway police officials including patrolling officers Rana Muhammad Ismail and SPO Sajjad Hussain contacted the family and handed over the children to their parents on Wednesday.

Similarly, the NHMP officers also found a 10 -year-old boy namely Farooq Nazeer near Basti Malook on the national highways. The boy was reunited with his family after announcements were made in the area.

DIG Motorway Police Mirza Faran Baig appreciated the efforts of the police officers and announced commendatory certificates for the officers.
