LAHORE - A vendor Wednesday requested the police high-ups to take action against Assistant Sub-Inspector Maqsood Ahmad of Gulshan Iqbal police station for snatching his ‘material’ on Multan Road near Mansoora Hospital.

Ijazul Haq, who belonged to Sadiqabad district, said he had been working in Lahore as vendor for the past five years. A few days back, he said, he was selling clothes on Multan Road near Mansoora when ASI Maqsood came and took his all clothes without assigning any reason.

Holding a placard inscribed with his whole story outside Lahore Press Club on Wednesday evening, Ijaz said he approached police official concerned but to no avail. “I sell clothes standing all the day on roads to win bread for my family but the police don’t let even laborers work honestly,” said Ijaz who is in his fifties.

The man appealed the authorities concerned to punish the cop for depriving him of his material and fabric, the only source of his income and provide him his snatched material, so that he could earn his livelihood.

Answering a question, he said that police alleged him that he was a thief. When the police official was contacted, he was not available for comments.
