Khushhalibank, Pak Post ink MoU

ISLAMABAD (PR): Khushhalibank (KBL), one of the fastest growing microfinance banks in Pakistan, Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pakistan Post. Under this MoU, Khushhalibank will offer a financing scheme to Pakistan Post for purchase of Motorcycle to its employees on easy installments without down payment and immediate transfer of the ownership of motorcycle to the employee.

The Motorcylce Loan Scheme will not only augment the quality of life of Pakistan Post employees but also encompass free of cost insurance coverage in case of death and/or permanent disability.

Speaking at the occasion, Ghalib Nishtar, President Khushhalibank said: “Khushhalibank is pleased to announce its relationship with Pakistan Post and hope that this will be the first of many constructive partnerships to be signed under the auspices of the newly agreed memorandum of understanding between KBL and Pakistan Post.”

He also thanked Pakistan Post “for their understanding, support and commitment to assist the people of Pakistan, especially the employees who belong to the lower strata of the society,” and stated that “with the enhanced assistance from Khushhalibank, Pakistan Post would be able to further extend its activities and reach out to more employees in the future.”

Djuice launches ‘Apportunity’

ISLAMABAD (PR): Telenor Pakistan’s youth centric brand, djuice, has declared open the annual Apportunity Contest 2015 –a competition to hunt for the best mobile phone applications (apps) developed by Pakistani students and young software developers. Building on its previous success and popularity, the competition is being organized for the fifth consecutive year.

Djuice has partnered with Microsoft besides other significant industry players to provide mentorship and guidance to all candidates and students get free Azure accounts to develop their mobile phone applications. Participants can send their entries in 06 categories including Education, Health, Internet of Things, Entertainment, Communication and Civil Administration (Emergency Services, Disaster Management, Civic Issues, Security, Social Support, Parental Control etc.). Apps developed for Android, iOS as well as Windows Phone platforms are eligible to enter.

“With platforms like Apportunity, young population of Pakistan can channel their energies towards technological advancement of the country,” said Irfan Wahab, Deputy CEO and Chief Marketing Officer, Telenor Pakistan. “Apportunity gives thriving developers a chance to showcase their creativity and talent in the mobile application market; consequently giving Pakistani consumers a frequent rendition of local content, which is accessible through Telenor App store,” he added.    

All participating Apps will be judged by a panel of industry experts, leading technology professionals, journalists and business mentors. Top three winners will be awarded Rs. 200,000, Rs. 150,000 and Rs. 100,000 respectively. Top Apps in all categories will win Rs. 50,000  

Mobile Technology Education are among Telenor Pakistan’svarious ambitions, therefore the winner of the Education category will represent Pakistan at the Global Digital Conference in Thailand and stand a chance to win up to $13,000 by competing against international participants.A consolation prize of $1,000 will be awarded if the Pakistani contestant does not win at the Global Digital Conference.

The winning Apps will also be featured on the Telenor App store, which has introduced in-app purchases through mobile credit for the first time in Pakistan, thus allowing mobile users to purchase their favorite local and global apps without credit cards.

NBP, HBL join hands with govt to reduce power crisis

KARACHI (PR): NBP, HBL have join hands with government to reduce power crisis in the country. Both banks have been at the forefront of financing and structuring power projects in this country for a long time. NBP has been involved in power project financing for over 25 years; it started with structuring the financing of Hub Power Company and since then has been involved in structuring, arrangement and financing of over 5000MW of the presently installed private sector owned power generation capacity. HBL has also been actively involved in power project since the last two decades.

Habitt wedding collection

KARACHI (PR): Habitt launched ‘wedding collection’ 2015 the other day. Habitt is known as a one stop home store and its Building Center branch in one of a kind in Karachi. Painting competition

LAHORE (PR): South Asia Partnership Pakistan’s AAWAZ, Voice and Accountability Program and Child Protection Bureau Government of Punjab (Home Dept) jointly organised a painting competition under AAWAZ – Aman (Peace) Campaign of SAP-Pakistan .Girls and boys participated in this competition. SAP-Pakistan team members distributed trophies and prizes among the winners.
