Karachi: As many as four terrorists arrested for involvement in Safoora massacre were represented before the court today.

Rangers Director General (DG) Major General Bilal Akbar has said that the evidences of foreign powers’ involvement in Safoora Chowrangi massacre have been sent to the Interior Ministry.

He expressed these views while briefing the Senate standing committee for human rights in the Sindh Secretariat.

He said that around 70 percent of the crimes in the city erupt out of personal disputes and clashes. He said that the law enforcement agency is working hard to counter the crime rate. The DG said that a criminal involved in Safoora carnage was arrested earlier but was freed by the court. The department is investigating how he managed to get a bail, he added.

Akbar said that at least 15 percent crimes are sectarian cases.

Sindh Police Inspector General (IG) Ghulam Haider Jamali said that as many as four terrorists behind Safoora bus shooting incident have been arrested. However, the police are carrying out raids to catch the other ten culprits, he added.

The IG said that the Sindh Police can take pride in the fact that ransom kidnapping cases have been eliminated from the city.
