Islamabad - National Institute of Historical and Cultural Research (NIHCR) and Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) have planned to jointly hold ‘International Conference on Sindh: History and Culture.’ According to a press release, the three-day conference will start on November 23 and continue till November 25. Both the institutions have signed an MoU for this purpose. Prof Dr Sajid Awan represented the NIHCR during the MoU signing ceremony. Prof Dr Parveen Shah, SALU VC, and Prof Dr Mohammad Yousuf Khushk, dean faculty of social sciences & arts, represented SALU. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Awan said this conference would be a breakthrough in the history and culture of Sindh. He said, “We have previously organised three international conferences in various Pakistani universities on the history of Sindh. The upcoming conference will be trilingual in which a large number of scholars from across the world will present their research papers on various themes.”

Prof Dr Parveen Shah said the history and culture of Sindh are marvellous and ancient. “This conference will provide a meaningful discourse on the history, culture and civilization because we have a rich civilization in the shape of Mohenjo-daro,” she said.

Prof Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Advisor to Vice Chancellor on Planning & Development, Prof Dr Syed Asad Raza Abidi, Registrar, Prof Dr Imdad Hussain Sahito, Chairman Department of Pakistan Studies, Prof Dr Ghulam Mohiuddin Veesar, Chairman Department of Archaeology, Hazoor Bux Channa, Conference Coordinator NIHCR, and Prof Dr Taj Mohammad Lashari, media coordinator SALU, were also present on this occasion.
