ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) Leader and MNA Capt.(Retd) Mohammad Safdar challenged Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan to quit his National Assembly seat and contest against him in the constituency of his choice to ascertain his real standing in the masses.

Talking to media here on Wednesday Capt.(Retd) Mohammad Safdar, who is also son-in-law of Premier Sharif, coming down hard on Imran Khan said that his wrong policies and mis-governance in Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa has fully exposed the party and now he could no more befool the people like he had done during the 2013 general elections campaign.

He further said that people of Pakistan are sick of politics of agitation and sit-ins and wanted to see country's march on road to economic progress and prosperity.

Capt.(Retd) Safdar said that PTI leadership has failed to fulfill any of the promises they had made with the people during their elections campaign and that was the reason the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa wanted to get rid of what he termed the most inefficient government in the history of the province.

He also criticised Imran Khan for his over meddling in the affairs of PTI government in the province, adding that virtually the provincial government is being run from Bani Gala and not by the Chief Minister KP Pervaiz Khattak.

The PML-N leader was of the view that PTI chairman and his team had already wasted eight precious months of the nation by staging sit-in in the federal capital and now people of Pakistan would not let him and his cronies play with the fate of the nation and that was the reason his popularity graph has witnessed a sharp decline.

Refuting the allegation regarding printing of 70,000 additional ballot papers in his constituency as false and frivolous, Capt(Retd) Safdar said that Imran Khan was in habit of levelling such allegations, adding if he wanted to check his popularity he should resign from his National Assembly seat and contest against him in any constituency of his choice.

Responding to question, he said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government was worried about its own security and how could it provide security to him (Safdar) and other party leaders. He alleged that Chief Minister KP Pervaiz Khattak due to security concerns spends most of his time in Islamabad and how could one make any demand regarding provision of security from him.
