Inspector Dilawar Niaz Bhatti at Wheat Procurement Centre Sukheke Mandi was caught red-handed while extorting Rs20,000 as illegal gratification from landlord Fida Hussain Bhatti of Atla Marwan for providing him gunny bags.
According to police source, the accused inspector used to supply empty sacks to the growers after extorting gratification and the complainant Fida Hussain Bhatti approached FIA in this connection.
Thereupon, FIA Sub-Inspector Javed Iqbal Ghuman along with a judicial magistrate of Pindi Bhattian raided the procurement centre and nabbed Dilawar Niaz Bhatti while getting Rs20,000 from the complainant. The raided party also recovered marked currency notes from the accused and registered a case against him accordingly.
Meanwhile, the Jalalpur Bhattian police smashed a prostitution den from Solangin Awan and arrested five girls including the owner of the den Zaitoon Bibi and two youth.
Likewise, city police seized 72 vulgar and obscene CD’s from an electronic shop and have arrested Amanat Ali.
On a tip off, city police raided the electronic store situated on Gujranwala Road and found 72 CDs of vulgar and obscene films.
On the other side, the district police have withheld one-year increment of SHO Sadar Rana Qaiser Jamil, SHO City Hafizabad Ali Akbar Chattha, SHO Kassoki Mian Zulifqar, SHO Vanike Tarar Muhammad Younas, SHO Kaleke Mandi Ghulam Muhammad, SHO City Pindi Bhattian Safdar Ata, SHO Sadar Pindi Bhattian Tanveer Hussain Nut, SHO Sukheke Zafar Sajjad Gondal and SHO Kaseesay Muhammad Nawaz on the charge of their poor performance.
DPO Hafizabad Shaker Hussain Dawar also served show cause notices to SHO City Hafizabad Ali Akbar Chattha, SHO Sadar Hafizabad Qaiser Jamil, SHO Vanike Tarar Muhammad Younas, SHO Jalalpur Bhattian Muhammad Walayat, SHO Kaseesay Muhammad, SHO Sadar Pindi Bhattian Tanveer Hussain Nut and SHO Kaseesay Muhammad Nawaz on the charge of their poor performance in the arrest of proclaimed offenders in their respective areas. He warned them of appropriate action if they failed to arrest POs in their respective areas.
