KARACHI - The Sindh police planned a massive reshuffling in the police department as transfer and postings of the several senior police officers is expected soon.

Sources reveal that the consultation between the police department and Sindh government ahead of the transfer and postings of the officials is underway.

In the first phase, some grade 20 police officers currently serving as the zonal and range chiefs are likely to be transferred and posted. These are included deputy inspector generals of Police ( DIGPs) of Larkana, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Karachi’s East Zone, West Zone, DIG Traffic,  DIG Special Branch and DIG Criminal Investigation Agency.

Sources further revealed that a notification regarding their transfer and postings is likely to be issued in the coming week as what the moves come following the upcoming general elections. Sources further said that more reshuffling of the police officers in entire department on different ranked police officers would be done in the next phase.

HUGE CACHE OF ARMS, AMMUNITIONS RECOVERED 

Sindh Rangers claimed to have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunitions.

According to the Rangers spokesperson, the troops on intelligence based information conducted a raid on a tip off at Waja Wali Muhammad Goth in Old Golimar area. The spokesperson said that the raid was conducted at an empty plot from where the troops recovered arms and ammunitions.

The spokesperson said that the recovered arms and ammunitions were dumped underground. According to Rangers spokesperson, the recovered arms and ammunitions belonged to Uzair Baloch group of the Lyari gangsters and these weapons had to be used in terror activities in a city.

The recovered weapons included three sub machineguns (SMGs), two Awan bombs and 2570 ammunitions of different calibers. The spokesperson also appealed to the citizens to inform Rangers on its helpline if they found any suspicious activity in their surroundings. On the other side, rangers claimed to have arrested 23 outlaws including the workers affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement London and Muhajir Qaumi Movement Haqqiqi.

Rangers conducted raids in Landhi and Ferozabad areas while arrested MQM London activist Noor Ali and Haqqiqi carders including Salahduin and Baber Wiki. Rangers said that the accused were wanted to the police in various cases of robberies and narcotics. Rangers also conducted a raid in Kalakot area while arrested Kamran and Junaid wanted in various cases of extortion.

In a raid conducted in Kalri area of Lyari Rangers arrested an accused Imran wanted to the police in kidnapping for ransom case. Rangers also conducted raids in Sachal, Landhi, Model Colony and Ferozabad areas while arrested six accused persons including Ejaz, Fawad, Raza, Nayyar, Faizan, Sulaman and Laeeq Ahmed. The accused persons were wanted in various cases of robberies. Rangers arrested two accused persons including Khalil and Rehman in raid conducted in Landhi area involved in arms smuggling.

Police and Rangers in joint operation carried out in Bilal Colony area while arrested Adil and Raheel involved in various cases of street crimes.

The raids conducted in Kalri, Defence, Darakhsan, Malir and Saeedabad areas while arrested seven accused persons including Munir, Shahid, Abul Hassan, Farooq, Ghafoor, Youshah and Asghar Ali. The accused were wanted to the police in various cases drug paddling. Ranger claimed to have recovered weapons, narcotics and looted valuables from their possession.
