LONDON National Peoples Party chief and former caretaker prime minister Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi died in London on Friday where he was hospitalised due to ailment. He was 78. Jatoi had suffered a paralysis attack a few weeks back and was being treated at the Saint Marys Hospital in central London. Talking to TheNation, a doctor said he suffered brain haemorrhage and remained in coma since then. Last month, he had started moving parts of body paralysed after the haemorrhage but remained in the intensive care unit, the doctor added. It is important to note that due to his critical condition no one was allowed to meet Jatoi and even his family members were unable to see him. Meanwhile, arrangements are being finalised for transporting his body back to Pakistan for funeral. Arif Jatoi, son, told The Nation said his fathers body would be flown back home at first available flight. Soon after hearing the news, relatives, friends and well-wishers started reaching his home in central London. But family members due to shock and grief avoided talking to media persons. APP adds: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani have expressed deep shock and grief over the sad demise of veteran politician Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi. In their separate messages, the president and the prime minister lauded the political contribution and services of late Jatoi. They said through the demise the nation had lost a seasoned political figure who served the country in various capacities.
