Great, even if bitter

Pakistan, a great country, is without sugar at present. It appears this crisis would go on for sometime. Even after the Supreme Court ruled a fixed price, the government's writ is being violated openly. By creating this artificial crisis, all those who are involved in the sugar business have not just challenged the Supreme Court but the entire government. Silence over this crisis would only serve to encourage these hoarders. We can all get united to strengthen the Supreme Court's verdict by refusing to buy sugar at a price higher than the one fixed by the Apex court. Until the price is brought back to the level, the nation must adopt a sugar-free life. I appeal to the people of Pakistan to stop using sugar for at least two months. -TAKREEM GUL KHAN, Lahore, November 19.
