PESHAWAR - The federal government has said a clear no to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments demand for changing the name of three law-enforcement agencies, namely, Frontier Police, Frontier Corps and Frontier Constabulary.
The federal government conveyed this in a letter to the provincial government and made it clear that no change of name for the above-mentioned three agencies would take place.
After renaming the NWFP as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the official orders for renaming all the government institutions accordingly have been issued, however, the afore-mentioned law enforcement agencies are still not renamed.
Earlier, the provincial government had asked the Centre for renaming Frontier Police, Frontier Corps and Frontier Constabulary as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Constabulary. Despite the fact that Frontier Police and Frontier Constabulary come under provincial governments domain, the federal government expressed its unwillingness to name change.
