PTET (Pakistan Telecommunication Employees Trust) after being constituted in 1994 used to pay the increase as announced by the Govt. of Pakistan for fourteen consecutive years. A deviation occurred in 2009 when PTET refused to pay pensioners benefits as announced by the government. Despite clear orders by the government, clarifications by the courts and National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology, PTET is disregarding these recommendations.
The current Minister of State for IT is also mum despite being most vocal in the previous assembly on the issue. As the current government has been elected under the slogan of ‘merit and justice’ it is requested to the present government to kindly help the old, sick and helpless community of the country.
