LARKANA - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Inasaf finalised all its preparations for holding a public meeting today and the party leadership is expecting thousands of supporters to attend the Larkana power show.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Vice President Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other party leaders will address the gathering. The preparations have been given final touch to hold public meeting at native village of PTI leader Shafqat Hussain Unar who has recently joined the party. The ground has also been decorated with flex signs and large posters of Imran Khan. Caps and other souvenirs flashing the PTI flags are being sold like hotcakes. A 70 feet wide stage has been set up in 15 acres while a parking area on 15 acres has been established to facilitate the participants.
To ensure law and order, public meeting area has been divided in 4 zones including red zone, green, blue and yellow, while the capacity of public rally is said to be 0.2 million people and 50000 chairs have been arranged. Besides, 1200 security persons including Police and Rangers will be deployed to ensure foolproof security arrangement for the PTI public meeting. The local PTI leadership announced to start shuttle bus and van service for carrying the people to the public gathering place from across the villages and Larkana city.
Talking to media, PTI Sindh president Nadir Akmal Leghari accused the PPP of creating hurdles and said that thousands of his party workers are being politically harassed in different areas. He said the PPP leaders are afraid of the increasing popularity of the PTI in Sindh. He said the PTI is striving hard to empower the people of the province following the message of Imran Khan to form ‘Naya Pakistan.’
During a press conference at Larkana Press Club, he said that the PPP has fallen victim to frustration and started hoisting PPP flags in Larkana city by removing PTI portraits and flags. He accused that Gullu Butt-like people have been assigned to disturb the PTI rally in Larkana. He said that his party will not accept the division of Sindh as it is policy of the PTI to protect the rights of the people and election should be held in free and transparent manner.
