Islamabad- The Special Court trying former president Pervez Musharraf for charges of high treason has accepted a plea for the ex-military ruler seeking trial of three other bigwigs accused in the case.

A three-judge bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab resumed hearing of the case today and accepted Musharraf’s application in which he had requested the court to include former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Zahid Hamid and Justice (rtd) Abul Hameed Dogar who are co-accused in the high-profile case.

Issuing it ruling, the court has ordered the federal government to initiate an enquiry against the three bigwigs who were also part of Musharraf’s Nov 3 decision to impose state of emergency in the country in 2007.
