KARACHI - The city of lights – Karachi – has been illuminated to mark birthday of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) regarded as Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).
Almost each and every street, mosque, road and building of the city can be seen decorated with multi-coloured lights, green flags and other beautification. It has been a tradition that city is illumined just as the moon of Holy month of Rabiul Awwal sights. Sindh Secretariat and buildings of other governmental organisations depict beautiful view as they are filled with multi colours particularly green lights as per the tradition.
Not only the streets and public buildings but the houses have also been illuminated and hoisted with green flags as the children who are full of religious fervour have taken their interest to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).
Different religious organisation announced carrying out procession across the city for which camps have been established to facilitate the participants. Numerous Mehfil-e-Milad are also being held in each and every part of the city. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation said that all the arrangements had been made ensure smooth culmination of all processions.
In a statement issued here, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar also felicitated the Muslim Ummah and said Karachiites, just like the people other parts of Pakistan, observe this day with religious fervour by holding numerous programmes. “Special cleanliness measures have been adopted at gathering venues and the participants would be extended all possible facilities by the city administration,” he added.
SECTARIAN HARMONY
A Wahdat Week would be observed from 12th to 17th Rabiul Awwal on the eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) to expand sectarian harmony, it was announced by Shia and Sunni clerics.
Addressing a joint a press conference here at Wahdat House on Tuesday, Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen Deputy Secretary General Allama Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi, Jamiat Ulema Pakistan leader Qazi Ahmed Noorani and Ahl-e-Sunnat Ulema Moulana Manzarul Huq Thanvi announced that they would jointly observe Wahdat Week in which the clerics of all sects would be invited.
“Different programmes and rallies would be held across the country in which the people would participate in large number to exterminate the nefarious designs of enemies,” they added.
Allama Rizvi said that Sunni and Shia are united and would foil conspiracies being made to sow discord between them. He said the personality of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is the centre point for their unity. “External forces are hatching conspiracy against Islamic world which is evident from unrest in Nigeria, Yemen, Iraq and Syri. The Muslim Ummah should compete against them by following the teachings of Quran and Hadees,” he added.
Moulana Manzarul Huq Thanvi greeted the entire Muslim Ummah and asked them to spread brotherhood, unity and tolerance in the society as per the teachings of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). The JUP’s Qazi Noorani said that entire nation is on same page for Namoos-e-Risalat and Khatm-e-Nabuwwat. Separately, the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) announced carrying out processions from all six districts of the city on the eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a statement issued here, TLP city chief Allama Razi Hussaini said they would be holding processions across Karachi. He reiterated that the unity amongst the Muslims is need of the hour to compete against anti-Islamic forces. The TLP leader asked the law enforcement agencies to ensure foolproof security for the processions.
