The abject power crisis has persisted all across country with eight hours loadshedding in big cities and 14 hours in small cities, towns, villages, a private TV reported on Wednesday. According to sources, long-hours power outages have multiplied sufferings of people a lot as the country is facing electricity shortfall of total 3500 megawatt per day. Unannounced loadshedding has adversely affected small businesses including domestic, industrial and trade activities contrary to PEPCO officials claims besides, PEPCO has also cut supply of furnace oil to Thermal Power Companies (TPCs) coupled with delay in paying off their dues. Decline in water spill from Magla and Tarbela dams has also cut electricity generation by half. According to sources, Karachi is facing 300 to 350 megawatt electricity shortage per day, observing four to five hours electricity cuts daily.
