The flood affected people all over Sindh could not attract the attention of those sitting in the corridors of power merely because they dont pose any threat to the powerful rulers. The drinking of extremely polluted rainwater, hunger and lack of makeshift camps poses grave risk to the lives of thousands of people, especially women and children. We have no option but once again to desperately appeal to the government representatives and concerned departments to spare sometime and resources for saving the lives of the people and facilitate the humanitarian organisations in their rescue and relief work. At least the government should not create roadblocks for various NGOs helping flood victims in Thatta and Badin. GULSHER PANHWER, Johi, September 2.
