US wants action against Haqqani network: Clinton

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday said that she was agreed with Army Chief General Kayanis remarks that Pakistan was not Iraq and Afghanistan rather it was a sovereign country and had lot of issues to discuss. She said that US wanted to eliminate Haqqani network, adding that she had in-depth discussions with the Pakistani leadership ranging from bilateral issues to threats arising from extremists. Addressing a joint press conference with her Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar, she said that US sees strong Pakistan for regional stability. Replying to a query about Haqqani network, she said that both the countries agreed to eliminate threats coming from any side. We must take action on both sides of Pak-Afghan border. We want to squeeze them so that they are not able to target people and we are increasing our efforts in Afghanistan in this regard.
