The speakers while addressing the conference made it clear that the nuclear-armed nation can also defend the ideology of Pakistan. They reiterated their firm resolve that the trade with India was unacceptable for themselves until and unless the Kashmir and water issues are resolved. Majid Nizami took oath from the participants of the conference that the basic ideology of Pakistan would be protected and promoted while stability and integrity of Pakistan would be given top priority. 'Paindabad Conferences are being held throughout the country under the directives of Majid Nizami with an aim to disseminate the message both at national and international level that Pakistan based on strong ideological and cultural foundations is a vibrant state and that had bravely faced many disasters. Such conferences further convey the message that the conspiracies of the enemies of Pakistan as well as of Islam will be foiled and the country will rise as one of the greatest nations of Asia. Chairman Nazria-e-Pakistan Trust, Majid Nizami while emphasising upon the importance of ideology of Pakistan Friday said that Pakistan might not come into being without its existence. Majid Nizami said that the decision to hold Paindabad Conferences throughput the country was taken at a time when some news reports appeared in the press that Pakistan would no more be a part of the world map after some years. We decided that Pakistan would live forever, he added. He further said that though the country was broken into two pieces in 1971, Bangladesh did not become part of India and it was an independent state. He emphasised that India is the enemy of Bangladesh in the same way as it was of Pakistan. He while congratulating General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum for holing such a marvellous moot opined that the new generation should know why Pakistan came into being and if it was not there how much they would be in bad condition. He further said that the youth should know who are Hindus and who are Jews? He said that whosoever would challenge Pakistan, it would face severs resistance. Some people question about the ideology of Pakistan and I say that if it had not been there, there might have no existence of Pakistan, he stressed. He recalling his past days passed with the Hindus before partition of 1947 said that Hindus used to treat Muslims in a very inhuman and discriminatory way. We were not allowed to enter their houses as they believe our entry will make these unclean, he informed. Majid Nizami said that people used to question what they got from Pakistan. I think that at the time of creation of Pakistan, people had not belongings and now they have each and every thing of the necessity of life and all this is because of Pakistan, he answered. He said that the people would decide that whether or not Nawa-i-Waqt always raised its voice of truth against the oppressive rulers. He said that the first martial law dictator of Pakistan, Ayub Khan banned the government advertisements and newsprint for Nawa-i-Waqt and desired to meet him that he always rejected. I met him after his retirement and he asked me that now you should be happy as the democracy of 'your choice in the country has been revived, he said. He said that he answered him how he could be happy as he had gifted the nation with another general, Yahya Khan. He further informed that in Yahya Khans regime, the government had opened some fake case against the newspaper editors and he was one of them. Once Yahya gave me the message at the behest of Maulana Kausar Niazi that if I apologised to him then he could close all these case but I always refused to apologise. Our relations with General Ziaul Haq were like carrot and stick and once in a group interview he (ZIA) asked me why did I not ask a question from him, he said. I remained silent but when he insisted, I asked him when would he surrender his powers. Majid Nizami informed the participants that he, after 9/11, in a meeting of editors with General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf had asked him, You have surrendered before US just on a telephonic call. After this, Tariq Aziz informed him quoting Pervez Musharraf that Majid Nizami was a very arrogant person and he had decided not to invite him in any meeting. But I asked him that he would not attend any meeting unless Musharraf apologised him, he added. He recalling the days of late 90s said that he was the person who persuaded Nawaz Sharif to carry out nuclear tests. He further informed that he stood by Fatima Jinnah in Ayub era when the majority of the press was supporting the dictator. He viewed that though there was no writ of the state in these day, and inflation, thefts throughout the country were on the rise yet they should not be disappointed with the future of Pakistan as the country would live forever and they would be in a better position in future. He advised President Asif Ali Zardari not to surrender before the US. Speaking on the occasion, Former Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmed said there was a dire need of concentrating on education system and curriculum development. There should be a uniformed education system as the feudal lords and bureaucrats are keeping people away from education intentionally. He said that they should give full attention to Islamic teaching. It is a good sign that aristocrats are talking about ideology of Pakistan, he added. Defence experts have expressed that if they would follow ideology of Pakistan no one could defeat them. He said that enemy of the country is trying to changes the education system and curriculum as they are against the ideology. They want to see Pakistan as secular state and our neighbouring country is against our ideology. Pakistan is an ideological state. Those who argue that Pakistan is a secular state by giving the reference of Quaid-e-Azams speech on 11 August 1947, are making an attempt to defame great Quaid. he added. Those who are saying that Pakistan is not an ideological state are telling a lie. We should follow ideology of Pakistan as after the fall of East Pakistan, there is a threat to the existence of Pakistan, he added. Fall of Dhaka is a big stigma on us and it could not be washed away. It was much depressing night in my life when this sad incident happened, he said. Talking about law and order situation in Balochistan, he said Pakistani flag is not hoisted there because they had forgotten ideology of Pakistan. During my visit to Japan they tried to convince that Pakistan should not be a nuclear power. I conveyed them that it is necessary for us to be nuclear power for defence and sovereignty of country, he added. Former army chief Gen (Retd) Aslam Baig in his speech said that they are going away from religion. We should give Islamic teachings to our children as around 70 per cent people could not recite Quran, he said I had ordered a survey in Army and came to know that around 55 per cent officer and soldiers could not recite holy Quran and they even did not know how to offer prayers. This is a matter of concern and we cannot defend ideology of Pakistan unless we will properly give Islamic education to our children, he added. He said in Musharrafs era there was foreign exchange worth 12 billion dollar and now despite hardships it is touching 25 billion dollar. Our economy is better than many countries, he added. Many people are not aware of ideology of life as nation is recognized with its ideology, he added. Giving example of Afghanistan, he said, When America attacked Afghanistan I met Jalalud Din Haqqani and posed a question that how would you deal with this power. He replied that we would fight and win the war and we were establishing contacts with Taliban. I told him it would deteriorate situation and why are you adopting this path? On it, Jalalud Din Haqqani gave no answer and remained silent. However, after two months he had replied that we had decided to fight and we would not follow American agenda, he added. He said that this country has already defeated Russia, India and other countries. He further said that they had such kind of rulers who surrendered only on one telephone call. We should make efforts for transparent democratic system based on Quran and Sunnah, he added. Talking about democracy, he further said that army intervened four times. Democratic system is not formed in few years. Democracy should be given chance as we have badly destroyed it, he added. He made Islamic education compulsory in army during his era. He said that General Musharraf had damaged the image of army. I will ask Shahbaz Sharif that it is his responsibility to promote Islamic education, he added. He said when Pakistan was formed it had three elements land, nation, and ideology. This country came into being in the sacred month and Allah has blessed us with 92 number code, he added. Speaking on the occasion, former President AJK Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan said that they had to change their priorities. Our new generation should be educated about the basic ideology of Pakistan, he said. I will request Nizami sahib to chalk out a plan involving media, scholars, army, schools, colleges etc. in order to educate people about ideology of Pakistan, he added. I have suggested that our political forces avoid speaking against each other in talk shows, he added. He indicated that water war with India could be fatal and there was a need to ponder on this point. He asked for millions march of all the political forces to express solidarity with the Armed Forces. Lauding the efforts of Majid Nizami for promoting ideology of Pakistan, he said in this old age he is enthusiastic enough to run this programme. General (Retd) Hamid Gul paid rich tributes to Majid Nizami for his efforts to keep alive the ideology of Pakistan. He said that implementation of the ideology of Pakistan is not far. For this purpose, we need a land where we can transform our lives according to the teachings of Islam, he added. He said that Objective Resolution was the part of constitution but it has not been implemented in its true spirit. He said that the country had great potential for progress. We have an alternative system but there was no movement in the country for this purpose, he said. He further said that the vote would not change their fate and new system would have to be introduced. Lt General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum said that Pakistan was among the best countries in the world and they should never believe in anti-Pakistan views. Our values are very strong and Pakistanis are a vibrant nation and because of the reason, today US is afraid of us, he added. He further said that the objective to organise such conferences was to remove the sense of despondency among the masses, to give them a ray of hope and promote positive and encouraging things about Pakistan to counter the propaganda of the enemies of Pakistan. He said that their economic policies should be in the right direction to strengthen Pakistan and for this purpose there was a dire need of better governance and law and order in the country. He also emphasised that Pakistan could not make friendship with India until Kashmir and water issued are resolved. We should stand united by setting aside our personal interests and showing tolerance, he said. Khushnood Ali Khan said that were they a living nation as they did not provide Quaid-e-Azam with the ambulance, murdered Liquate Ali Khan, hanged Zulfikar Ali Bhutto assassinated Benazir Bhutto, forced Nawaz Sharif to live into exile, sent Asif Ali Zardari into jail? He also pointed out that the inflation in the country was rising highly due to printing of currency notes. Shahid Rasheed congratulated General Qayyum and his colleagues for organising such a conference. He said that they were showing unity to hold such conferences in all the provinces and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. We reject the trade with India until the Kashmir issue is e resolved as without the solution of Kashmir issue, trade with India will be the betrayal with Kashmir and Argil martyrs, he added. Tahir Farooq said that creation of Pakistan was not less than a miracle. He further said that they had to focus to promote technical education in the educational institution. Malik Fidaur Rehman said that Nawa-i-Waqt had always talked about Pakistan and raised the flag of the country high. Sardar Khan Niazi termed corruption as the root cause of all evils in Pakistan. He also raised his voice over the increasing incidents of kidnapping in the country especially in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Zafar Ahmed Bakhtawari in his remarks showed its commitment that they would educate the new generation about the ideology of Pakistan.
