LAKKI MARWAT - Local leaders of political parties have demanded the federal and provincial governments to set up a separate grid station in Lakki city to meet the needs of electricity and overcome load shedding and low voltage problems.

In a chat with The Nation on Sunday, PTI District General Secretary Ahmad Nawaz, Din Muhammad and Ihsanullah of PPP, Quami Watan Party District General Secretary Imranullah Marwat and Humayun Khan of ANP said that inhabitants of Lakki city have been facing the problems of loadshedding and low voltage since long as local politicians failed to keep their promises regarding resolving power related problems.

They said that to establish a separate grid station in Lakki city was the need of the day and higher quarters concerned of government should pay heed to it.

“Residents of the urban locality are hard hit by electricity problems besides power outages have brought the business activities and routine life to a standstill,” they maintained.

They said that the urban locality comprised two union councils got electricity facility from two power feeders installed in 132KV Tajazai grid station situated at a distance of 14 kilometres in the district headquarters complex.

They told that population of Lakki city was growing day by day and the government should set up a separate grid station in Lakki city to meet the increasing demand of power facility. They further told that establishment of the grid station would rid the residents of load shedding besides the facility would help to boost business activities in the town.
