IHC orders election of PCB Chairman on Nov 2

Islamabad High Court on Monday ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to hold election for the post of Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on November 02.
IHC Justice Shaukat Siddiqui was hearing the case.
In its orders, the court directed the ECP to make arrangements of the election of a new PCB chief as per the procedure laid down by International Cricket Council (ICC).
The court directed the ECP to issue election schedule tomorrow (Tuesday).
The Counsel for the cricket board submitted that the board is ready to hold the polls in the light of court orders and under the ICC code.
In its orders, the court said that the acting setup of the cricket board would become dysfunctional after the elections.
Senior journalist Najam Sethi is currently heading PCB’s adhoc committee appointed by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
