BAHAWALPUR - State Minister for Education, Technical Training and Standard for Higher Education Mian Baleeghur Rehman appreciated the education friendly and staff welfare policies of IUB/GSCWU Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar and said that the current improvement and progress of the Islamia University Bahawalpur was the result of devoted efforts of Dr Mukhtar.

The State minister remarked during the Eid greeting meeting with the faculty members and administrative staff of the Islamia University, Bahawalpur headed by Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar here on Sunday.

He said that the recent development in various sections of the university was the best example of cooperation and coordination among the staff and students of the university.

He remarked that Eid festivities and sacrifice of the sacrificial animals at the university by the IUB/GSCWU VC for the students of the university belong to different parts of the country and living in the university hostels were a good sign for the national solidarity, harmony and unity.

He said that the IUB Alumni could perform more active role in the progress of Islamia University, Bahawalpur and the students serving abroad should be contacted for better results.

He hailed the move to regularize the contract and daily wages employees besides giving promotions to deserving employees of the university with the view that such steps always produce productive results for better output and good reputation of any organisation.

Mian Baleegh also appreciated the performance of the IUB's Media Studies Department and the passed out students who had been performing remarkably in different organisations with command and authority. Speaking on the occasion, the IUB/GSCWU VC informed the State Minister that he had regularized the services of more than 250 contract/daily wages employees of the IUB after a meeting prior to Eidul Adha and made its announcement during Eid Prayer on Oct 16, as a gift for the employees of the university.

Dr Mukhtar said that the Alumin and the Senior Tutor's Office had started contacting all the graduates of the university for this cause. Dr Asghar Hashmi, Dr Memona Ghani, Dr Najeeb Jamal and Dr Sajjad Paracha were the other members of the IUB Faculty members delegation during the eid greeting meeting.

The Eid celebration ceremonies for the boarding students of the IUB and QMC, Bahawalpur were also attended by the officials and notables of the area including, MNA Begum Parveen Masood Bhatti, provincial Secretary Sohail Shehzad, former Mayor Bahawalpur, fromer MPA Ch Abdul Majeed and Commissioner Division Capt (r) Asadullah Khan.
