CHAMAN - Three members of security forces were shot dead in different cities of Balochistan yesterday.

Unknown armed men gunned down two policemen and injured a passerby in Chaman and escaped from the scene.

According to details, unidentified miscreants stormed a police picket established at Boghara Road in Chaman killing two cops and injuring a passerby. The attackers managed to escape from the scene. The bodies and injured were shifted to hospital.

Police cordoned off the area after attack and launched a search operation but no arrest could be made. In another incident, unidentified gunmen killed a BC soldier in Quetta.

Suspects, whose identity could not be ascertained, opened fire on Faizullah, Head Constable in Balochistan Constabulary leaving him dead.

Body of the martyred soldier was handed over to his heirs after medico-legal formalities.


The security personnel foiled a terror bid after confiscating 40 kg of explosive material during a raid in Dera Bugti. According to sources, the operation was conducted at a vacant house on a tip off received. The officers recovered 40 kg of explosives, two remote control bombs and wires. An investigation has been launched into the matter to apprehend the culprits.

Meanwhile, unidentified militants killed an on duty policeman on Quetta’s troubled Sariab Road on Tuesday.

Police sources said that motorcyle-riding assailants opened fire on a police head constable killing him on the spot.

Frontier Corps (FC) and police personnel reached the spot soon after the incident and shifted the policeman’s body to Civil Hospital Quetta for autopsy.

The incident occurred a day after a deadly blast ripped through a local bus in the same area of the city killing 11 people and injuring around a dozen.

Police and other law-enforcement agencies personnel conducted late night raids in Sariab Road area and other parts of Quetta.

Security was beefed up in Sariab Road and other surrounding areas of Quetta following the blast.
