Islamabad - Chairman Capital Development Authority, Maroof Afzal has directed the environment wing to plant flowering plants at all avenues, squares and parks of the capital to further enhance its natural beauty.

He said this during a meeting with the representatives of Islamabad Horticulture Society (IHS) here at CDA Headquarters yesterday. It was decided in the meeting that exhibition of autumn flowers and chrysanthemum flowers would be arranged at Rose and Jasmine Garden from December 4 to 6, 2015. Different species of autumn flowers and chrysanthemum flowers would be displayed during the upcoming exhibition. He said that such exhibitions are the best source of amusement, entertainment and recreational facility. He also directed the concerned formations of the CDA to invite schoolchildren and college students so that they could enjoy this facility.

The chairman CDA was apprised that autumn flowers and chrysanthemum flower show has become an annual festivity in Islamabad and people from all walks of life visit the exhibition. The chairman was informed that besides CDA, other departments including Allama Iqbal Open University, Quaid-e-Azam University, SUPARCO, KRL, RDA, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force and Combined Military Hospital etc will take active part in the annual flower exhibition.

Maroof Afzal lauded the hectic efforts of Islamabad Horticulture Society for organising such successful flower exhibitions and promoting the culture of flowers in Islamabad.
