SHEIKHUPURA: The Patrolling and Factory Area police on Tuesday caught a drug-trafficker with 20 kg opium, said to be worth Rs7 million.

The drug peddler, identified as Javed Bhatti with the contraband, was on the way to Kot Abdul Maalik locality from KP Province in a car. Acting on a tip-off, the police officials intercepted the car reaching near Upper Chenab Canal. Upon search, they found the contraband concealed under the car seats. The police arrested the accused and started further investigation. Meanwhile, four unidentified dacoits stormed into the house of a farmer Bilal in Faizpur locality on Tuesday. The intruders held the family up and escaped after looting jewellery, cash and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. Factory area police started investigation.–Reporter
