ISLAMABAD - Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) yesterday recommended the Lahore High Court incumbent chief justice and the senior most judge names for vacant position in the apex court.

The commission also proposed to regularise the services of four additional judges of Peshawar High Court.

Chief Justice for Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali chaired the JCP meeting, which was participated by four senior judges of the Supreme Court, federal law minister, Attorney General for Pakistan and the representative of Pakistan Bar Council.

The JCP recommended Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Manzoor Malik and the senior most judge Sardar Tariq Masood names for the vacant position of the august court.

Four additional judges of PHC whose names proposed to make them permanent include Justice Muhammad Younas Theme, Justice Qalandar Ali Khan, Justice Muhammad Ghazanfar Khan and Justice Haider Ali Khan. The JCP recommendations will be forwarded to the Parliamentary Committee on judges’ appointment for approval.
