LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency arrested a citizen allegedly involved in Hawala Hundi business, a spokesman said yesterday.

Inspector Nasir Awan, along with his team members, conducted a raid at 6-Montgomery Road where a person Salman Tariq was found involved in illegal business of currency exchange and hawala hundi. During search of his shop raiding team recovered Rs188,000 Darham; 1,020 Omani Riyal; 2,719 Saudi Riyal and US$500. FIA registered a case under section 4,23 FER Act 4 AML, Act 2010, the spokesperson said.–Staff Reporter

In another raid, FIA Anti Corruption circle arrested a Lesco official red handed while receiving bribe.

Amjad Ali, line superintendent, Nishtar Colony sub division, was receiving Rs5,000 from a citizen when the FIA team in the presence of Judicial Magistrate arrested him. A case number 112/16 has been registered against the accused under section 161 PPC.
