Rawalpindi - Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalindi Bench yesterday issued notices to Chairman Board of Management for three teaching hospitals and Medical Superintendent of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in a petition filed against awarding parking contract in violation of rules and regulations.

LHC Rawalpindi Bench Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti served notices on the health officials asking them to submit their replies in the court within two weeks.

Haji Daud and Company through his Advocate Asad Abbasi filed a petition with LHC Rawalpindi Bench challenging the award of the parking contract to a company that offered lowest bid during the auction.

In his petition, the petitioner said that his bid for the parking lot in DHQ for year 2016/17 was worth Rs6.1 million. The authorities however awarded the contract to Noman Waheed and Company as the company offered the bid of Rs4.7 million.

The petitioner said that the DHQ authorities advertised in local newspapers asking for tenders for collection of parking fee in the hospital. The authorities conducted the bid on August 20 and shortlisted seven companies out of total 27 bidders.
