The recent rail accident involving a stationary goods train on the main line resulted in a loss of 6 lives while 100 others were injured. According to reports, the goods train was parked on the main line when an express train drove into it from behind. The question arises, given that the goods train was stationary on the main line, why wasn’t the rail-traffic halted?
The Railway minister ought to resign due to the colossal loss of life and property that has come about because of mismanagement. Unfortunately, the minister has shown no willingness of doing so. Perhaps our politicians are so thick-skinned that no accident can force them to resign from their positions. In fact, politicians are not fit enough to run technical departments. Only an engineer must be required to manage Railways.
