Interior Minister Sheharyar Khan Afridi has said that the educational institutions of Muslim countries need to disburse latest knowledge and technology to empower the Muslim world to uplift and give them respect.
This was stated by the minister during a meeting with International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) President Dr Ahmed Yousif Ahmed Al Draiweesh who called on him on Sunday.
During the meeting, issues related to betterment of Muslim world, Pak-Saudi bilateral ties and education were discussed. Sheharyar Khan Afridi said that Pakistan gives great importance to ties with Saudi Arabia as both nations are in close contacts with each other.
IIUI President Dr Al-Draiweesh presented an overview of the varsity. He highlighted importance of university and its role in disseminating peace and discouraging extremism.
Dr Al-Draiweesh also invited the minister to visit International Islamic University and share vision of new Pakistan with students.
