Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Nusrat Wahid said on Sunday that stern action would be taken against the people involved in money laundering as the government was committed to resolving economic issues on priority basis.
“Due to previous governments’ wrong economic policies, Pakistan is facing a great economic crisis. In the last 10 years, huge foreign loans were obtained due to which Pakistan has been pushed into swamp. In order to payback the loans, the PTI government will adopt a workable strategy,” she said in a statement.
She said that stern action would be taken against the people involved in money laundering. “Current difficulties are temporary and all-out efforts will be made to provide facilities to the people,” she said. She requested overseas Pakistanis to use banking channels for transferring money to homeland and they should avoid sending money through illegal means.
Nusrat stated that the tax net system will further be broadened and smuggling will be totally eliminated. “The business community should cooperate with the government for their imports and exports matters, the PTI MNA said, adding that the government would provide all basic facilities for the promotion of imports and exports.
“To control high conversion rates of US Dollar and to increase the foreign exchange reserve, the government will take revolutionary steps and in order to provide stability to local rupees, all resources will be utilized and stability will be provided to the economy. The commitments made by the government with the public will be fulfilled,” she concluded.
