ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari yesterday said that government had failed to control price hike

He congratulated jiyalas (PPP workers) for staging protest demonstrations against price-hike by the government in several cities of Pakistan.

The PPP workers protested in Shangla, Kohat and Chiniot districts in connection with the protest demonstrations being organised by the party across the country.

These protest demonstrations are continuing in Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against price-hike of the daily-use commodities.

The PPP Chairman said that the PPP’s campaign against inflation was a reflection of people’s sentiments. “The PPP stands by the people against the worst inflation in the country,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Secretary PPP Parliamentarians Information Secretary Shazia Marri said the supporters of the government were also pointing fingers at the government.

“Today, the supporters of this government might also be worried while seeing the government’s policies. Punjab is the largest and politically most important province in the country, but unfortunately non-political people on key positions were incumbent there, which is a historical injustice with the Punjab,” she said in a statement.

She added that reshuffling in top bureaucracy had been done on the basis of likes and dislikes and due to negligence at the part of few people while non-political people have been seated who have no understanding of any political decision nor they could make any simple decision of ordinary nature.

She said that whenever opposition parties brought country’s issues under discussion during the sessions of Parliament, most of times microphones were turned off or assembly sessions were suspended.

Marri said President Arif Alvi’s office has become an ordinance factory because whenever the National Assembly session was about to end, the ordinance was already prepared for promulgation.
